Moore family to meet with new investigator today

GREENVILLE — The family of Alicia Chanta Moore is scheduled to meet today with the new investigator assigned from the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office to the murder case.

The session is not expected to lead to any announcements concerning the investigation.

Moore was last seen on the afternoon of Nov. 2, 2012 getting off of a school bus at the intersection of Bourland and Walnut Streets in Greenville, about a half-block from her home. Her body was found four days later along FM 47 in Van Zandt County.

The Greenville Police Department is working alongside the Hunt County District Attorney, Van Zandt County District Attorney, Texas Rangers, the FBI and the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office in conducting the investigation.

A newly elected sheriff took over in Van Zandt County with the first of the year, which resulted in the investigator they had assigned to the case being changed.
