GREENVILLE —
A former Delta County resident is back in local custody, to face a charge of aggravated kidnapping in connection with January 2010 incident which began in Campbell and stretched into Oklahoma before ending in a high speed chase across North Texas.
Charles Ray Stevens, 55, who had previously listed an address in the unincorporated area of Lake Creek, was being held in the Hunt County Jail Thursday. Stevens was indicted by the Hunt County grand jury in September 2010 and was alleged to have kidnapped a female victim at knifepoint.
According to a report from the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office, the kidnapping occurred Jan. 31, 2010 at a Campbell residence, where the victim was forced into a vehicle by Stevens, who reportedly drove the victim north into Oklahoma.
