GREENVILLE — Two Celeste residents and a Greenville man were killed Thursday night in a two vehicle head-on collision.
According to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Brett Wayne Vick, 44, of Greenville was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Impala southbound on U.S. Highway 69, near County Road 1040 at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday when the vehicle veered into the northbound lanes and struck a 2012 Ford Escape driven by Ouida Compton Richards, 65, of Celeste.
Vick, Richards and Melba Anderson Compton, 84, of Celeste, a passenger in the Escape, were pronounced dead at the scene by Hunt County Justice of the Peace Aaron Williams.
The highway was shut down in both directions for several hours just south of Celeste as the accident was investigated and cleared.
