GREENVILLE —
Trial is scheduled this week for a local man, indicted on a charge of aggravated robbery in connection with a reported armed hold-up during the summer of 2011.
Jury selection is set Monday morning in the 354th District Court in the trial of Jaquinton Marquis Morris, who has pleaded not guilty.
Morris and Samuel Paul Gardner, both of Greenville, each received one indictment from the Hunt County grand jury in December of last year for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. The pair were alleged in the indictments to have used a firearm to threaten a victim while in the course of committing a theft on Aug. 6, 2011.
Aggravated robbery is a first degree felony, punishable upon conviction by a maximum sentence of from five to 99 years to life in prison and an optional fine of up to $10,000.
Gardner pleaded guilty in June, was placed on five years of probation and was fined $1,200.
