Motorists in Hunt and Rains counties will be able to safely drive across some area creeks, as a result of a bridge replacement project starting next month.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announced Friday that Area Engineer Tammy Sims is working with the Hunt and Rains County officials on the upgrades.
The work is expected to consist of replacing the existing bridges and approaches at three locations; including Hunt County Road 3511 at Little Creek, Rains County Road 1402 at Cedar Creek, and Hunt County Road 3205 at the Middle Fork of Turkey Creek.
The work on Hunt County Road 3511 is expected to begin March 4 and be completed in May. The work on Rains County Road 1402 is scheduled to follow and continue until July. The work on Hunt County Road 3205 will begin in July and wrap up in September.
The total project has been granted 143 working days and was awarded to East Texas Bridge of Longview in the amount of $458,755.20.
