Wind advisory today, storms possible Sunday, much cooler Monday

GREENVILLE — Big changes are coming to the weather during the next 48 hours.

A wind advisory is in place for all of North Texas, including Hunt County, today. A burn ban is not effect, although the public is urged to use extreme caution if burning outside due to the high winds predicted for this afternoon.

The National Weather Service forecast is calling for partly sunny skies with a high near 78 and with south wind gusts as high as 35 mph.

There is a slight chance of rain overnight with a low of 69 and wind gusts as high as 25 mph.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely for Veterans Day Sunday mainly after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature rising to near 71 by 9 a.m., then falling to around 62 during the remainder of the day. South southeast winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

There is another slight chance of rain Sunday night with a low around 40. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph after midnight.

Sunny skies and a high of around 58 degrees are expected Monday.
