GREENVILLE —
Greenville city officials intend today to show their appreciation to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
The City of Greenville and the Greenville Board of Development have scheduled a Thank You Reception for 4 p.m. in the Fletcher Warren Civic Center, 5501 South Business Highway 69 in Greenville.
The event is being billed as a way to thank TxDOT for being a partner in the city’s progress for having contributed more than $62 million in transportation projects in the Greenville community since 2008.
Among the projects recently completed are the State Highway 34/Wesley Street overpass across Interstate 30 and the Monty Stratton underpass beneath the interstate, as well as expansion of U.S. Highway 380 between Greenville and the Hunt/Collin county line.
Within the last year, TxDOT was also involved with widening portions of the pavement on U.S. Highway 69/Joe Ramsey Boulevard and Wesley Street to accommodate additional left turn lanes, as well as widening at the Stonewall Street intersection to improve safety for left turning traffic from Stonewall to U.S. Highway 69/Joe Ramsey Boulevard.
