Council to get first look at city budget

GREENVILLE — The Greenville City Council will get its first look this week at the proposed City of Greenville budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

City Manager Steven Alexander intends to present the draft budget during the Council workshop, starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Municipal Building, 2821 Washington Street. 

No action on the budget is scheduled as part of the regular agenda, which begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The current city budget is funded by a property tax rate of 69.9 cents per $100 valuation, unchanged from the previous fiscal year.
