Circus coming to Greenville this month

GREENVILLE — The big top is coming to Greenville later this month.

The Carson and Barnes Circus is set to visit the city for two days of performances benefiting Ridgecrest Hispanic Baptist Church.

The shows are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 5 pm. March 16-17 at the Hunt County Fairgrounds.

The Hugo, Okla.-based circus comes complete with trapeze artists, jugglers, acrobats, horses, dogs, elephants and, of course, clowns.

The circus began in 1937, and in 2012, visited more than 250 communities across 15 states, performing more than 700 shows.

General admission tickets cost $16 for adults and $10 for children at the gate, or $14 and $8 in advance available online through the circus’ web site at www.carsonbarnescircus.com.

Reserved seats, with backs, cost $3 more each and box seats — closest to the center ring with folding chairs — are $6 higher than general admission.

Advance tickets are also available in Greenville through Intrigue Hair Salon, Alliance Bank , CiCi’s Pizza and Sandra’s Beauty Salon. Tienda Musical Mexicana and Tienda Oviedos.
