Newspaper looking for 'unsung hero' nominations

GREENVILLE — Do you know someone who is an “unsung hero?” If so, the Herald-Banner wants to hear about them.

The newspaper is seeking nominations of people to be honored as Hunt County’s top unsung heroes from the past year. Examples include people who quietly do volunteer work, help their neighbors, or go the extra mile to make folks smile — all without receiving recognition for it.

We’re looking for the ordinary people who do extraordinary things, not the big-wigs who are already in the newspaper. Winners, as selected by the Herald-Banner staff, will receive a plaque and will be featured in an upcoming special edition in March.

To nominate an Unsung Hero, the following information is required:

1. The Unsung Hero’s name and contact information.

2. Your name and contact information.

3. An explanation of why we should pick them for the Unsung Hero award.

Send nominations by email to editor@heraldbanner.com; drop them off at the Herald-Banner office at 2305 King Street in Greenville; or mail them to Unsung Heroes, The Herald-Banner, P.O. Box 6000, Greenville, 75403.

Nominations must be received by March 15.
