Commissioners schedule final budget hearing

GREENVILLE — The public will have a final chance Wednesday to offer input concerning the proposed Hunt County budget and property tax rate.

The Hunt County Commissioners Court has scheduled public hearings on the proposed 2012-2013 budget and tax rate, starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Auxiliary Courtroom, 2700 Johnson Street.

The tax increase will be used to help pay for a proposed pay increase of $1,040 for each county employee, but not for elected officials, and to maintain the current level of county retirement and health benefits.
