GREENVILLE —
With the start of the new year also comes the start of new terms for several Hunt County officials.
A swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. January 1 in the courtroom of 196th District Court Judge Steve Tittle, on the third floor of the Hunt County Courthouse.
Many of those who will be taking the oath of office are individuals who are already in their respective positions, although there are a few new faces scheduled to be sworn-in during the ceremony.
Among the incumbents being sworn-in are 354th Judicial District Court Judge Richard A. “Rick” Beacom, Hunt County District Attorney Noble D. Walker Jr., Hunt County Court at Law No. 2 Judge F. Duncan Thomas, County Attorney Joel David Littlefield and Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks.
Among the individuals taking the oath for the first time are County Tax Assessor-Collector Randy L. Wineinger, County Commissioner Precinct No. 1 Eric Evans and Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, Place 1 Wayne Money, all of whom won election in November.
Returning to an office he once held is County Commissioner Precinct No. 3 Phillip A. Martin.
Also starting new terms will be Constable Precinct No. 1 Terry Jones, Constable Precinct No. 2 Wayne “Doc” Pierce, Constable Precinct No. 3 Don Morrison and Constable Precinct No. 4 Kent Layton.
