GREENVILLE —
One might almost think the ghost of Thomas H. King, the late Greenville millionaire banker and cattleman, is working in conjunction with the Greenville Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber has been planning a Halloween weekend ghost tour which will take place in October and will revolve around King’s death in an 1897 triple drowning.
This week, precisely 115 years after the deaths of King and two female companions in a cattle pond, a newspaper detailing the scandal was uncovered in a bizarre coincidence. It draws new attention to the mysterious deaths and gives historians access to details that were previously unknown about them.
There could hardly be a stranger turn of events for people inclined to believe ghost stories.
