Charges filed in K2 raid

GREENVILLE — A local man has been charged in connection with a Tuesday afternoon raid by law enforcement on a Hunt County convenience store, which was allegedly selling the illegal substance known as K2.

Sukhwinder Singh, 47, of Greenville was arrested at the Campbell Store on Highway 50 and on Wednesday was charged with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, over 1 ounce and under 4 ounces. His bond was set at $50,000 by 196th District Judge Steve Title.

Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks said several bags of what appeared to be K2, items used to smoke the drug and currency were seized by authorities.

“The search warrant and subsequent arrest were the result of an undercover operation carried on by the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office,” Meeks said, adding that additional arrests and charges connected to Tuesday’s raid can be expected. “Once again, the sale of illegal drugs will not be tolerated in Hunt County. I don’t know how to make it any clearer than to continue to arrest and put out of operation these drug dealers. Hopefully, the word will get out that there is zero tolerance for this type of activity in Hunt County.”
