Summer heat wave continues assault

GREENVILLE — The current summer heat wave continued its assault on Hunt County Thursday, as temperatures soared into the triple digits for the fifth straight day.

The Texas Forest Service listed the county under “very high” fire danger conditions Thursday, and Hunt County Fire Marshal Richard Hill said he intends to seek an emergency ban on outdoor burning.

“I’ll be talking to the county judge about that tomorrow,” Hill said.
