GREENVILLE —
A local man is no longer facing a charge of aggravated robbery, which had been filed in connection with a reported armed hold-up during the summer of 2011.
Jury selection had been set Tuesday in the 354th District Court in the trial of Jaquinton Marquis Morris.
Morris had pleaded not guilty.
The Hunt County District Attorney’s Office filed a motion with the court Tuesday, seeking dismissal of the indictment at the request of the reporting witness.
Morris, 19, and Samuel Paul Gardner, both of Greenville, each received one indictment from the Hunt County grand jury in December of last year for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
The pair were alleged in the indictments to have used a firearm to threaten a victim while in the course of committing a theft on Aug. 6, 2011.
Gardner pleaded guilty in June, was placed on five years of probation and was fined $1,200.
