Drive One 4 Ur School event promises to raise funds

GREENVILLE — SouthWest Auto Mall will be hosting its third annual Drive One 4 Ur School event on Saturday, Oct. 27 in the Greenville High School parking lot. For every person over the age of 18 who test drives one of the Ford vehicles, SouthWest Auto Mall will donate $20 for up to 300 people.

“All the funds will go toward school organizations,” he said, “with Project Graduation being the main beneficiary.”

A number of companies will be also be on hand to help raise funds.

“Richardson’s Auto Glass will be there and repair windshields, and the funds will go toward the school,” he said. “Schlotzsky’s will also be there providing cinnabons with proceeds going to the event as well.”

According to Bird, a mix of new Ford vehicles will be available to test drive, and there are no strings attached to test drive.

“There will be no sales pitch,” he said. “Come drive a new care and earn money for your school. What could be better?”

The Greenville robotics team, the high school band and Destination Imagination will be represented, selling items for the fundraiser.

Bird said this is an easy way for the community step in and support the school district.

“As funds become harder to get for schools, events like these can really help,” he said. “If you could do something about it, would you?”
