Cost of city insurance rising

GREENVILLE — The City of Greenville will be spending more for liability insurance this year.

The City Council intends to vote tonight on accepting and awarding a bid for property and liability insurance coverage. The resolution is included under the regular session agenda, starting at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 2821 Washington Street. A work session is set for 5 p.m. today.

In a memo to the Council, Director of Human Resources Barry Robinson explained that the city advertised for bids for the insurance, and the four bids totaling $755,955 were opened last month.
