Multiple fire departments spent much of Monday afternoon battling another large blaze, which reportedly resulted from a controlled burn that spread out of control.
Area drought numbers are continuing to rise, increasing the threat of grass fires, although there is hope that rain may accompany another powerful cold front which is expected to cross the region later this week.
Units from the Cash, Quinlan, Tawakoni South and Greenville fire departments sent units to a three alarm structure and grass fire at 5933 Rancho Drive, off of Rancho Road, which was first reported shortly before 3 p.m. Monday.
