GREENVILLE — A slight chance of rain remains in the forecast for today through Saturday evening, as the remnants of what had been Hurricane Isaac move across the area.
And even though it is the Labor Day holiday weekend, it is still technically summer, and it is expected to feel like it starting Sunday. The forecast is calling for sunny skies and afternoon high temperatures well into the upper 90s through Thursday of next week.
Hunt County is not currently under a ban on outdoor burning. However, the Hunt County Fire Marshal's Office is reminding residents that there are still certain restrictions to outdoor burning. The burning of household trash is only permissible during daylight hours and the wind speed cannot be greater then 23 mph. Natural materials, such as brush and limbs can be burned, but not treated or painted lumber. No prohibited material — including but not limited to: rubber, plastics, wire, insulation and furniture — can be burned, and a responsible person must be present during active burning.
