GREENVILLE — The Texas Forest Service has again listed Hunt County under "high" fire danger conditions today, due to the increasing local drought levels.
Hunt County was the only county in the region to be listed under the elevated danger level today.
The county is not under a burn ban at the present time, although fire department officials are asking anyone planning on doing a controlled burn or using fireworks to take precautions to prevent any fire from spreading in the dry vegetation.
Majors Field Municipal Airport recorded a high temperature of "only" 99 degrees Thursday, after three straight days of triple digit temperatures. The high today is expected to reach 98 degrees.
