Arraignment scheduled in capital murder case

GREENVILLE — One of two men indicted on charges of capital murder, involving a shooting death five years ago in Greenville, is scheduled to be arraigned today.

Markus Ladane Stephenson and George Washington Sharper are alleged in the indictments to have shot and killed David Olivares at a residence on Henderson Street in June 2007.

Stephenson is set to appear in the 196th District Court this morning for the arraignment hearing, at which time he may enter a formal plea to the charge and also likely have an attorney appointed to represent him.
