Two aggravated assault indictments filed against a local man in connection with a reported family violence case during the summer have been dismissed.
Robert Michael Larson still faces trial on a separate aggravated assault indictment, involving an incident which was alleged to have occurred during the spring of this year.
Opening arguments and the start of testimony were scheduled Monday in the 354th District Court for Robert Michael Larson, 37, of Greenville on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/family violence. Larson had pleaded not guilty.
Larson and William Arther Larson Jr., 43, also of Greenville, each received two indictments in September for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/family violence. William Larson was alleged to have threatened Robert Larson, and also a female victim, with a hammer on Aug. 4. Robert Larson was alleged to have used a pistol to threaten William Larson and another female victim on the same date.
The Hunt County District Attorney’s Office filed motions with the court Monday, seeking to dismiss the two aggravated assault/family violence indictments filed against Robert Larson, “in the interest of justice.”
A sealed indictment for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was also issued by the Hunt County grand jury in September against Robert Larson, alleging he threatened a male victim with a pistol on May 24.
Trial was scheduled on the indictment Monday for Jan. 14, 2013.
