Teenager charged with intoxication assault

GREENVILLE — A Hunt County teenager has been charged with intoxication assault, for allegedly being behind the wheel during an August accident in which three people were injured.

Blaine Keeton Moody, 18, of Campbell, received one indictment from the Hunt County grand jury last month, with three counts of intoxication assault with a deadly weapon.

The indictment was issued sealed, pending Moody’s arrest and initial court appearance on the charge.

An arraignment hearing had been scheduled Thursday in the 354th District Court, but it was unclear as of press time Thursday whether Moody had been formally arraigned or entered a plea of not guilty in the case.

Moody was alleged in the indictment to have been driving while intoxicated on August 1 during an accident in which the vehicle crashed into a tree. Two women and one man were reported injured in the accident.

Intoxication assault is a third degree felony, punishable upon conviction by a maximum sentence of from two to 10 years in prison and an optional fine of up to $10,000.
