Neylandville to get new cemetery

GREENVILLE — The fastest growing city in Hunt County is about to get a cemetery.

A dedication ceremony is scheduled at 2 p.m. Sunday for Paradise Memorial Park.

Norman Thrash, president of Paradise Memorial Park, said the 10-acre facility at 2050 County Road 4202, just outside the city limits of Neylandville, is expected to meet the city’s cemetery needs for the next 10 years.

Neylandville, percentage-wise, was the city in Hunt County which grew the fastest during the last decade, according to the 2010 Census.

Neylandville, along State Highway 224 between Greenville and Commerce, listed a population of just 56 residents in 2000, but reported a population of 97 people in 2010.

Thrash said the park will be open to the public during the ceremony, with staff available to answer any questions about burial arrangements.

Immediately following the dedication ceremony, a reception is scheduled inside the Neylandville city hall.
