GREENVILLE —
Trial is set to begin today for an Oregon man, accused of possessing multiple examples of child pornography in Hunt County in October 2011.
Jury selection in the trial of Aaron Stephen Gebo, also known as Aaron Stephen Gevo, was conducted Monday in the 196th District Court. Opening arguments and the start of testimony are set in the court at 10 a.m. today.
Gebo, 39, of Eugene, Ore. received 10 indictments from the Hunt County grand jury on charges of possession of child pornography. He has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody at the Hunt County Jail.
The indictments alleged Gebo possessed 10 separate images of child pornography on his laptop computer on Oct. 25, 2011.
Each of the charges were filed as third-degree felonies, punishable upon conviction by a maximum sentence of from two to 10 years in prison and an optional fine of up to $10,000.
Gebo had a previous conviction listed on the indictments, for first degree sexual abuse, from Lane County, Ore. in 2002.
