Police: Thompson still missing

GREENVILLE — The Greenville Police Department had no new information to release Monday concerning local resident Brandon Cole Thompson, four days after he allegedly escaped a standoff following a residential burglary in another county.

“They would appreciate any tips that anyone may have concerning the suspect’s whereabouts,” said City of Greenville Public Information Officer Lori Philyaw.

Thompson is wanted in connection with a burglary of a habitation in Van Zandt County last Thursday, during which weapons were stolen.

Thompson was believed to have been barricaded inside a residence on Rabb Drive in Greenville throughout the day Thursday, but when tactical officers with the police department and the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office entered the home Thursday night, they found Thompson was not inside.

Thompson was described as a white male, 24, five-foot-eight, 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Thompson may be wearing blue jeans, and a gray and black zip-up hoodie.

According to a statement from the police department, the burglary in Van Zandt County was interrupted by the homeowner, who then traveled to Greenville to confront Thompson at Thompson’s residence in the 2300 block of Rabb Drive.

Anyone with information as to Thompson’s location is asked to contact the Greenville Police Department at 903-457-2900. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Hunt County Crime Stoppers at 903-457-2929.
