Sheriff: Interviews complete in buffalo deaths

GREENVILLE — The Hunt County grand jury could hear evidence next week involving the deaths of a rare white buffalo and his mother.

Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks said Wednesday his office has finished interviews concerning the investigation into the deaths of Lightning Medicine Cloud and his mother, Buffalo Woman. Meeks told the Noon Rotary Club that the case could be presented to the current panel of the grand jury when it meets for the first time next Friday, July 27.

“That’s what I’m hoping for,” Meeks said. “We’re close, we’re close.”
