County again considers capital murder defenders

GREENVILLE — With at least three death penalty capital murder cases pending, the Hunt County Commissioners Court intends to take another look this week at the West Texas Regional Public Defender’s Capital Defense Program.

A representative from the program is scheduled to appear during Tuesday’s regular meeting, starting at 10 a.m. in the Auxiliary Courtroom, 2700 Johnson Street in Greenville.

Hunt County Court-At-Law Judge Andrew Bench addressed the commissioners two weeks ago and said he is in favor of the county becoming part of the program.
