GREENVILLE —
Two suspects were injured in law enforcement involved shootings, which occurred within minutes of each other early Thursday morning, durig separate raids conducted in the Quinlan area by the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Sheriff Randy Meeks said his office’s Tactical Team served a narcotics search warrant at a home off of North Shore road at around 5:30 a.m. Thursday. A suspect in the residence allegedly pulled a shotgun on the officers, who fired and wounded the suspect.
The suspect was transported by air ambulance to Medical City Hospital in Plano where he was reported to have undergone surgery Thursday morning.
“At last report, I heard he was going to make it,” Meeks said.
A second raid occurred at around 6 a.m., as the FBI served a warrant at a residence in the 10000 block of Cody Lane in Quinlan.
“The FBI had two suspected bank robbers in a house, and they shot one of the bank robbers,” Meeks said. “He was transported by ambulance to the Greenville hospital.”
Meeks said the second suspect was transported to the Hunt County Jail.
“This all happened within a 30-minute time period,” Meeks said.
Katherine Chaumont, spokesperson with the FBI’s Dallas field office, confirmed that agents conducted a raid on the Cody Lane residence, and left the scene by 8:45, after which agents with a search team entered home.
“I believe they are still out there,” Chaumont said at mid-afternoon Thursday.
Chaumont could not comment on the reasons for the raid.
“Just that they were conducting an operation,” she said.
Nor could Chaumont confirm that anyone was arrested or wounded during the operation.
“There weren’t any law enforcement officers injured as a result,” Chaumont said.
The names of the suspects have not been released.
