GREENVILLE —
Today marks two years that the murder of a Royse City woman has remained unsolved.
Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks said Monday that there has been no recent progress concerning the 2010 death of Heather Leann Pope.
“Unfortunately, we do not have any new leads on the Heather Pope murder,” Meeks said. “I checked with the investigator on this case, and he told me that there is nothing new at this time.”
Last summer, Meeks had taken information concerning the case a Forencis Anthropology lab in Denton and the case has also been reviewed by The Sheriff’s Association of Texas Cold Case Review team.
Despite new leads which were reportedly generated from the efforts, no arrests have been made and no suspects identified in connection with Pope’s death.
Pope’s body was found on the night of Aug. 2, 2010, outside of a vacant house in the Duck Cove area along the shores of Lake Tawakoni.
Anyone who may have information concerning the case is being asked to contact the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office at 903-453-6800.
