Final day of early voting in primary runoff election

Election Day Tuesday

GREENVILLE — Today is the final day of early voting for next Tuesday’s primary runoff elections.

Early voting continues between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Hunt County Voter Administration Office, 2217 Washington Street in Greenville.

Individuals who voted in the May 29 Democratic Party primary election will not be allowed to vote in the Republican Party runoff and vice versa. Anyone who did not vote in either of the primaries can vote in either the Republican or Democratic primary runoff elections.

The Republican Party runoff includes all of the races on a Hunt County level, including the contest for Hunt County Tax Assessor Collector between Randy Wineinger and John Clark. Tuesday’s runoff will likely determine who will be the next tax assessor, as there are no Democratic Party, independent, third party or announced write-in candidates in the running for the November 6 general election.

Eric Evans and Mike Pierce are facing each other in the GOP runoff for Hunt County Commissioner Precinct 1. The winner will face Democrat Jerry Minter in November.

Incumbent Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Place 1 Sandy Lane Berger and Wayne Money are vying in the Republican Party runoff, which will also likely decide who will be the next person to hold the office.

There is also a runoff for Hunt County Republican Party chairman between the incumbent David Hale and David Renshaw.
