GREENVILLE —
A young boy was killed Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle near Caddo Mills.
The accident was reported at around 5:30 p.m. Friday. Personnel from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Hunt County Sheriff’s Office, Caddo Mills fire department and emergency medical units were dispatched to report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident at 4294 FM 36 South.
The Texas Department of Public Safety later confirmed that it was a fatality accident.
Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks said an 8-year-old boy was reported to have run across the highway, chasing his dog, when he was struck by a pickup at the location. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
No additional details were immediately available.
