GREENVILLE —
A popular downtown Greenville restaurant has shut its doors, but only temporarily.
But while the City Bistro at 2508 Lee Street may have closed, lovers of the grape need have no fear as the adjacent Landon Winery is still in business.
According to a legal notice sent by McKinney attorney Philip M Ruais to the “Italian Bistro LLC”, the tenant was found to be in default for failure to comply with the terms of its lease of the property and therefore the lease itself was terminated.
Landon Winery owner Bob Landon said Wednesday he was closing the City Bistro for about two weeks and intends to use the time to redo the restaurant’s kitchen.
“We plan to reopen as soon as possible,” Landon said, adding the closing was not connected to any financial problems.
“The Bistro is doing well and the Winery is doing great,” Landon said.
The restaurant is expected to reopen as the “Landon Bistro.”
Landon said the eatery will feature the same menu and there will be no major changes made inside the restaurant.
The winery and restaurant opened inside the historic Greenville building in early 2010.
