GREENVILLE —
Community leaders from across Hunt County intend to gather this week for a public meeting on “Dismantling Racism.”
The program is being presented by the Anti-Racism Team of the United Methodist Church and is co-sponsored by the Corporation for Cultural Diversity for Greenville (CCDG) and Wesley United Methodist Church.
The 90 minute seminar is free and is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at Wesley United Methodist Church, 5302 Business Highway 69 South in Greenville.
The meeting is designed to provide area residents a deeper understanding of the definition and exposure to the analysis of racism in the community.
The Board of Directors of the Corporation for Cultural Diversity for Greenville include Bernice Reeves-Brown, Kim Hunt Butcher, Johnny Courns, Tracey Fields, Betty Franklin, Dan Perkins, Phillip Dukes and Lisa Hoskins.

The Corporation for Cultural Diversity for Greenville (originally the City of Greenville Committee for Cultural Diversity) was established in 2000.
Now an independent group, the CCDG received non-profit status in 2002.
The organization was founded on the principal that racial equality and justice are fundamental aspects of a healthy community.
The Corporation’s goals are to facilitate equal education, opportunity, and fairness in the community; to promote appreciation for the unique strengths and needs of each cultural group represented in the community; and to celebrate diversity, thereby reducing racism and prejudice.
