GREENVILLE —
The 2012 Greenville North Community Association (GNCA) Back To School Extravagannza for K-12th grade will be held Saturday, starting at at 9 a.m. and ending on or before noon.
The event is in a new location at Pilgrim Tabernacle Church of Deliverance, 3620 Washington Street (across from the old libarary on Lee Street), in order to spread and share the event throughout parts of North Greenville. All preregistered students and adult supervision need to be present in preregisration lines by 10 a.m., by the parent listed on applications letter of their last name to receive admittance bracelet for school supplies. If they are not present by 10 a.m. their child’s backpack is forfeitted and they must get in postregisration line for a number to receive supplies.
We will have approximately an extra 100 backpacks and supplies on hand K-6th grade provided by Tools For School and an additional 100 provided by the GNCA for 7-12 grade. To receive these supplies, you must register on site and issued a number until supplies gone. Students must be present. No exceptions.
Other items such as uniforms, haircuts, food, and games do not require a bracelet but will be provided on a first come, first serve basis.
On Saturday there will be a tented area with youth and young adult talent perfomances and music provided by KKVI Radio, free train rides, food, drink, and other giveaways provided by community churches, organizations, and businesses, bounce houses provided by Peppermint Dental, and two north community motorcyle clubs: Until Death and H-People. On hand will also be applications for Greenville ISD Free or Reduced Lunch, Chip/Medicaid/Women Services, Voters Regisration, Wal-Mart Eye Screenings, information about sport programs by Greenville Parks & Recreration and more.
The extravagannza will officially kick off at 7 p.m. nightly, tonight through Friday with a Greenville Interdominational Ministerial Alliance Youth Revival, also held at Pilgrim Tabernacle Church of Deliverance.
The revival will feature Dr. Lavelle Hendricks, pastor, East Caney Missionary Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs this evening; Rev. Micheal Allen, minister, Mt. Zion Baptist Church Thursday night; and Rev. Davy Stoker, minister, Greater Rose of Sharon C.O.G.I.C. on Friday.
