GREENVILLE —
Developers behind a major shopping center proposed for the Interstate 30 service road in Greenville say they are getting close to announcing the first tenants in the project.
Scott Steenson with III:I Emerging Market Partners in Plano said Monday that interest is growing in the Greenville Towne Center.
“We’re now getting traction on prospects,” Steenson told the board of the City of Greenville Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) No. 1. “We want to start Phase 1.”
Steenson said Phase 1 would consist of pad sites along the service road, as well as the construction of the initial infrastructure, entries and the first parking areas for the overall project.
“Greenville needs some nice restaurants,” Steenson said, as he and other individuals associated with the center discussed plans with the TIRZ board.
“We need at least a feeling of cooperation before we move forward,” Steenson said.
