GREENVILLE —
A Patriot Day ceremony, in commemoration of the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, is scheduled Tuesday morning in Greenville.
The Colonial Lodge, 3590 Stanford Street, and Briarcliff Health Center, next door at 4400 Walnut Street, are hosting the observance.
The ceremony will start at the Colonial Lodge at 9 a.m. and continue at Briarcliff at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Mayor Steve Reid is scheduled to be present for the event, alongside representatives from local fire and police departments and military personnel.
September 11 has been designated as Patriot Day and Americans have been asked to observe it with vigils and ceremonies, and the lowering of all flags on federal buildings to half-staff.
