GREENVILLE —
The Greenville Independent School District did not meet the standards under the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) 2012 Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) report, but they were hardly alone.
The TEA Wednesday released the AYP results for all public and charter schools in the state. According to the agency, 48 percent of Texas schools failed to meet the AYP standards, compared to 34 percent last year.
According to the report, Greenville High School; the New Horizons Learning Center; the Bowie, Crockett, and Lamar elementary schools; the L. P. Waters Early Childhood Center and the Sixth Grade Center met the AYP standards. Greenville Middle School missed the standards, as did Carver and Travis elementary schools.
