CAMPBELL —
Dodd City jumped out to a 19-0 lead and then cruised to a 63-26 victory over Campbell in the girls championship game of the Ninth Annual Glen Fields basketball tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Indians didn’t score until the second quarter and couldn’t dig themselves out of that big hole.
Jenna Wallace pumped in 21 points to lead Dodd City to victory and also earn the tournament’s most valuable player award. Christi Petty fired in 10 points for Dodd City, while Lauren Hilliard added nine and all-tournament selection Keeshia Thompson chipped in seven.
All-tournament selection Haley Davidson led the Lady Indians with 16 points and Jordan Davidson added four points and was also named to the all-tournament team.
Blue Ridge claimed consolation honors with a 33-20 win over Bland.
Sara Waidelich and Morgen Gann both fired in six points to lead Bland. Waidelich was named to the all-tournament team.
Kmzie Garcia led Blue Ridge with 11.

MILLER GROVE — Celeste’s Lady Devils overcame foul trouble to whip Prairiland 50-28 in the girls championship game of the Miller Grove tournament on Saturday.
Three of Celeste’s top players, Madalyne Pearce, Haley Trentham and Morgan Lewis, finished the game with four fouls.
“I was a little nervous,” said Celeste coach Amy Herron. “We’re excited. They did a good job. We pulled it through.”
Lewis fired in 17 points to earn most valuable player honors for the tournament.
Tiffany Crossland also pitched in 12 points for Celeste, while all-tournament selection Rachel Myers added nine points. Haley Trentham of Celeste also earned all-tournament honors as the Lady Devils improved to 5-1 for the season.
Lone Oak’s Lady Buffs dropped their Miller Grove tournament game to Bullard, 53-37.
Alyssa Busby and Courtney McCoy both pumped in 13 points to lead Lone Oak.
Ashleigh Dodwell, who had five points and three steals, earned all-tournament honors for Lone Oak.
Bridgette Taylor led Bullard with 18 points.
