Four local high school girls basketball teams are preparing for bi-district playoff games either Monday or Tuesday.
Leonard, which finished third in District 12-2A, will take on 11-2A runner-up Pottsboro at 6 p.m. Monday at Anna. The winner of that game advances to the area round to take on 10-2A champion Godley.
Celeste, which was second in Division I’s District 15-A to Sam Rayburn, faces third-place finisher Maud of District 16-A at 7 p.m. Monday at Rivercrest High School in Bogata. The winner of that games advances to the area round to play Dallas Triple A Academy, the champion of 14-A.
Quinlan Ford, third in District 14-3A, will face 13-2A runner-up Pittsburg at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Lindale. The winner of that game faces 16-2A champion Bullard in the area round.
Rains from Emory, the District 14-3A champion, earned a bye for the bi-district round and will go up against either Mabank or Longview Spring Hill in the area round.
Campbell, second in Division II’s District 23-A, will face 24-A runner-up Bloomburg at 6 p.m. Tuesday in a bi-district playoff in Mount Vernon. That winner goes on to the area round to face 22-A champion Dodd City.
Monday’s playoff games
Class 2A bi-district — Leonard vs. Pottsboro, 6 p.m., Anna.
Class A bi-district — Celeste vs. Maud, 7 p.m., Rivercrest.
Tuesday’s playoff games
Class 3A bi-district — Pittsburg vs. Quinlan Ford, 7:30 p.m., Lindale.
Class A bi-district — Campbell vs. Bloomburg, 6 p.m., Mount Vernon.
