Lady Lions down Highland Park, 60-55
GREENVILLE — Maddy Crabtree banked in 23 points and Olivia Carter pumped in 19 to lead the Greenville Lady Lions to a 60-55 District 10-4A victory over Highland Park Friday night at the Lions Den.
Greenville scored eight of the game’s first nine points to lead by seven points with barely three minutes gone in the game. The first quarter ended with the Lady Lions ahead, 14-11.
Highland Park’s Lady Scots outscored the Lady Lions 17-14 in the second quarter to make it 28-28 at halftime.
The Lady Scots went up 44-42 by the end of the third quarter.
But the Lady Lions outscored the Scots 18-11 during the final eight minutes to get the win.
Hartley Hobson, who fired in three 3-pointers, chipped in 26 points to lead the Scots.
Highland Park also collected 10 points from Eleanor Aldous.
“We missed too many free shots, other than that everything was fine,” said Lady Lions coach David Sanders.
The Lady Lions are now 9-4 on the season and 1-1 in district play.
Highland Park dropped to 8-7 and 1-1.
