EMORY — The No. 5 state-ranked Royse City Bulldogs kept their perfect regular season intact with a 71-14 routing of Rains on Friday night.
Royse City is now 10-0 on the season for the first time in 50 years and will play Frisco Wakeland in the first round of the playoffs at Kimbrough Stadium in Murphy on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Rains dropped to 4-6 for the season.
Lone Oak 48, Edgewood 30
EDGEWOOD — Lone Oak’s Buffaloes racked up some big yardage on the way to a 48-30 victory over Edgewood on Friday night.
The Buffaloes, who are now 8-2 for the season, finished second in District 12-2A with a 4-1 record and will advance to the bi-district round of the playoffs to face Hico at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Cedar Hill.
Edgewood finished at 4-6.
Caddo Mills 48, Scurry-Rosser 13
CADDO MILLS — Eric Jeffery went 5-of-6 passing for 117 yards and three touchdowns while Nathan Jeffery ran nine times for 154 yards and three touchdowns as Caddo Mills blasted Scurry-Rosser 48-13 to finish the sweep of District 12-2A.
The Fox defense held the Wildcats to 110 yards rushing, including Steven Phillips' 89 yards on 27 carries.
Caddo Mills ends the regular season at 10-0 for the first time since 1986. The loss ends Scurry-Rosser's season at 2-8.
Boles 52, Cumby 32
CUMBY — Boles’ Hornets wrapped up the regular season with a 10-0 record and a spotless mark in District 17-A after outscoring Cumby 52-32 on Friday night.
The Hornets rang up 617 yards of total offense, including 568 yards rushing. The Hornets also went 4-of-5 passing for 49 yards.
Cumby, which is now 6-4 for the season, finished with 345 total yards, including 179 yards rushing and 166 passing.
Quinlan Ford 57, Commerce 6
QUINLAN — Quinlan Ford quarterback Michael Enriquez passed for five touchdowns, paving the way to a 57-6 victory over Commerce on Friday night.
The game was for pride, as both teams had been eliminated from playoff contention in District 10-3A coming into the evening. Quinlan had gone winless in district until Friday, while Commerce had posted just one district win over Rains.
The Panthers ended their season at 5-5 under second-year head coach Derek Alford, while the 2-8 Commerce Tigers look to continue to build in the offseason under first-year head coach Bryan Price.
Farmersville 42, Melissa 7
FARMERSVILLE — Nickevian Taylor, Tajh Redwine and Quincy Roberts led a 436-yard offensive effort Friday, as Farmersville turned the district 13-2A title game into a 42-7 rout of Melissa at Farmers Stadium.
Taylor had 154 rushing yards including a 52-yard touchdown run for Farmersville (8-2, 5-0), which will play Pottsboro Friday at Mckinney’s Ron Poe Stadium at 7:30 p.m. in the Class 2A Division 1 bi-district playoffs.
Redwine finished with 139 rushing yards with two touchdown runs, while Roberts caught three touchdown passes from Austin Brooks, who was 6-of-7 for 107 yards with no interceptions.
Aubrey 42, Leonard 22
AUBREY — The Leonard Tigers ended their season Friday night with a 42-22 loss to the Aubrey Chaparrals, who will be in playoffs next week.
Each quarter ended with Aubrey ahead. After scoring first, the Tigers just never could gain on the Chaparrals and had two touchdowns called back.
Leonard’s Will Cowan took the opening kickoff 90 yards into the end zone, but the referees called holding at the Aubrey 45.
Wolfe City 41, Celeste 6
CELESTE — The Wolfe City Wolves visited the Celeste Blue Devils in a north Hunt County rivalry game and the Wolves stormed their way into the Class A playoffs with a 41-6 victory on Friday night.
Wolfe City, now 5-5 for the season, racked up 501 yards of offense while the Blue Devils (also 5-5) managed 290.

No. 1 Pilot Point stops Commerce
Pilot Point’s Skylar Cagle showed why she’s one of the state’s top pitchers while leading the Lady Bearcats to a sweep over Commerce in a Class 2A regional semifinal softball series on Friday night.
Cagle struck out 22 batters in 14 innings as No. 1 state-ranked Pilot Point won 1-0 and 3-2 to advance to the regional finals. Cagle improved her season record to 23-0 as Pilot Point upped its team mark to 36-2.
Commerce finished the season with a 27-7 record after advancing the farthest in the playoffs in school history.

Commerce Lady Tigers to face No. 1 ranked team
Tonight the Commerce Lady Tigers will play Pilot Point, the No. 1 ranked softball team in the state.
But to Commerce Jeff Davidson, it’ll be just another game.
“It’s still another game,” he said. “It’s their best against our best.”
The Lady Tigers will face Pilot Point at 6 p.m. in Mount Pleasant at Northeast Texas Community College in the first game of a best-of-three Class 2A regional semifinal playoff series. Game two is set for 8:30 p.m. and if need be, game three is at 10 a.m. on Saturday. -
Northeast Texas Trail ride planned
The organizers of the new Northeast Texas Trail (NETT) have scheduled its inaugural event to introduce the multi-use trail to potential users.
On Saturday at 7 am, teams of cyclists and equestrians will begin separate relays from trailheads in New Boston and Farmersville. The meeting point will be Love Civic Center in Paris (2025 S. Collegiate Dr.). Estimated time of arrival is at 2:30 p.m. Golden spikes will be driven into the ground at various points along the route which was originally a railroad corridor. -
