Blue Devil quarterback Braden Morrow connected with Bryce Kieffer for 44 yards and a touchdown with 3:55 left in the third quarter for the only touchdown Friday night for either team, as the Celeste Blue Devils knocked off the Era Hornets, 8-2.
Morrow ran in the two-point conversion. He had an almost perfect night; 12 of 13 for 173 yards and no touchdowns.
Kieffer had four receptions for 100 yards.
Era scored a safety in the second quarter on a bad snap on a punt from the end zone.
Defensive standouts included Alex Smith, Nick Garza, Austin Shatto, Ricky Lewis and Zack Brumfield. Brumfield left the game with a thigh injury in the third quarter.
Celeste, 2-1 on the season will travel to Alba-Golden for a non-district game. Era drops to 1-2 on the year.
