Deputies make arrest for money laundering

Deputies with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest for money laundering during the past weekend, while also answering multiple calls concerning domestic violence, thefts and burglaries.

One person was reported to have been taken into custody shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, at the 91 mile-marker along Interstate 30, on a charge of money laundering of the value of between $1,500 and $20,000.

An assault causing bodily injury/family violence was reported to have occurred at a home on County Road 2422 between 3:30 and 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

An assault causing bodily injury/family violence was reported to have occurred on Highway 224 in Neylandville between 1 and 3 p.m. Oct. 1.

A burglary of a motor vehicle was reported to have occurred on Highway 205 between 6 and 7 a.m. Friday.

A burglary of a building was reported to have occurred on FM 499 in Campbell between 11 a.m. Oct. 1 and 9:16 a.m. Saturday.

A theft was reported to have occurred on Highway 34 South between 5 and 7 a.m. Sunday.

One person was charged with taking a prohibited item into a correctional facility at 2:13 a.m. Saturday.

Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to 349 calls between Thursday morning and Sunday night, took 19 people into custody and filed 61 reports.

Of those people taken into custody, five people were arrested on outstanding warrants, three people each were arrested for assault/family violence, possession of a controlled substance and driving while license suspended, two people were arrested for theft and one person each was arrested for robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

District Court

— Colter Dale Pryor, 18, Quinlan, had probation on a charge of attempted possession of a controlled substance revoked and was sentenced to 180 days in the Hunt County Jail.

— Ian Daniel Etienne, 24, Sunset, La., had probation on a charge of felony criminal mischief revoked and was sentenced to 180 days in a state jail.

County Court-at-Law No. 2

— Melody Jane Chapman entered pleas of guilty to charges of theft by check and possession of marijuana and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with a $100 fine.

— Johnny Dewayne Morris entered a plea of guilty to a charge of driving while license invalid with previous conviction and was sentenced to 10 days in jail with a $100 fine.

— Justin C. Parker entered a plea of guilty to a charge of driving while intoxicated and was placed on 18 months of probation with a $1,000 fine.

— Christopher Damon Hayes entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana and was placed on 12 months of probation with a $500 fine.

— Jamond Dickson entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana and was placed on 12 months of probation with a $500 fine.

— Christopher Lamont Anderson entered a plea of guilty to a charge of terroristic threat and was sentenced to 130 days in jail with a $100 fine.

— Jason Ray Baldwin entered a plea of guilty to a charge of obstruction of highway and was placed on 12 months of deferred adjudication probation with a $1,200 fine.

— David D. Brownlee entered a plea of guilty to a charge of obstruction of highway and was placed on 12 months of deferred adjudication probation with a $500 fine.

— Manuel Miranda entered a plea of guilty to a charge of purchasing/furnishing alcohol to a minor and was placed on 12 months of deferred adjudication probation with a $750 fine.

— Ted Richardson Richardson Jr. entered a plea of guilty to a charge of DWI/Open Alcohol Container and was sentenced to 60 days in jail with a $100 fine. Richardson also had probation on a charge of possession of marijuana revoked and was sentenced to 60 days in jail.
