Sheriff’s office receives multiple deadly conduct reports
A local man was arrested Friday on an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault, one of 21 arrests made by the Greenville Police Department during the past weekend.
The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office, meanwhile, has received multiple recent reports of deadly conduct incidents and has also reponded to calls of assaults, burglaries and thefts.
Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to 242 calls between Friday morning and Sunday night and filed 59 reports.
A 21-year-old Greenville man was arrested at around 8:30 a.m. Friday on an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
A 30-year-old Greenville man was arrested at around 3 p.m. Sunday and charged with no driver’s license, failure to maintain financial responsibility, possession of an open container of alcohol in his vehicle, speeding and outstanding warrant.
A 41-year-old man from Murphy was arrested Sunday for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility.
Other arrests during the weekend included 12 people for outstanding warrants and one each for evading arrest, driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, failure to display a license plate and no driver’s license.
The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office received a report last Tuesday, Aug. 4, of a deadly conduct incident, involving a firearm, occurring on County Road 2230 at FM 1564 between 5:40 and 5:45 a.m. that day.
A deadly conduct incident, involving a knife, was reported Aug. 4 to have occurred in the Crazy Horse addition between 5:30 and 6:30 a.m. July 23.
A deadly conduct incident, involving a firearm, was reported to have occurred at a residence on County Road 2304 at 4:15 a.m. Friday.
An assault was reported to have occurred at a residence on County Road 2632 between 11 a.m. and noon last Thursday, Aug. 6.
An assault was reported to have occurred at a residence on Sundance Drive between 5 and 5:27 p.m. Aug. 6.
An assault was reported to have occurred at a residence on County Road 4800 between 11 p.m. and midnight Aug. 6.
An assault was reported to have occurred at a residence on Brockrim Lane between 12:37 and 1:20 p.m. Saturday.
An assault was reported to have occurred at a residence on Shawnee Lane between 8:45 and 9 a.m. Sunday.
Thefts of a flatbed and goosneck were reported to have occurred at a commercial building on West Main in Campbell between 10 p.m. last Thursday, Aug. 6 and 1:30 a.m. Friday.
Three burglaries were reported to have occurred at residences on Clay Drive in Caddo Mills between 1 and 2 a.m. Friday.
A burglary was reported to have occurred at a residence on Northshore between 10 and 10:03 a.m. Friday.
A theft was reported Friday to have occurred at a residence on FM 903 between 2 p.m. July 1 and 2 p.m. July 25.
A tneft was reported to have occurred at a residence on FM 1565 between 5:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday.
A theft was reported to have occurred at a residence on Brinwood Drive between 11 a.m. and noon Friday.
A burglary was reported to have occurred at a storage unit on Highway 380 between 6 a.m. July 27 and 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
A theft was reported to have occurred at a residence on Bobby Circle between 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 p.m. Sunday.
A theft of shingles was reported to have occurred at a business on East Interstate 30 in Campbell between 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.
A theft of T-posts was reported to have occurred from a field on Beverly between 6 a.m. Aug. 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday.

District Court
— Stephen Lewis Moreno, 36, Mabank, forfeited bond on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. A warrant was ordered for Moreno’s arrest and new bond was set at $5,000 cash only.
— Mark Dale Schunatz, 34, Caddo Mills, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance and was placed on five years of deferred adjudication probation, with 120 hours of community service and a $500 fine.
— George Eddie Carter, 21, Cooper, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of failure to comply with sex offender registration and was sentenced to 365 days in a state jail.
— Rodney Earl Goodwin, 42, Quinlan, forfeited bond on a charge of delivery of marijuana. A warrant was ordered for Goodwin’s arrest and new bond was denied.
— Jeremy David Barnes, 24, Royse City, had probation for sexual assault of a child revoked and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
— Jesse Abrahim Gomez, 19, Greenville, had probation on a charge of possession of a controlled substance revoked and was sentenced to eight years in prison.
— Lynn Prum, 27, West Tawakoni, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of felony DWI and was placed on 10 years of probation with 10 days in the Hunt County Jail, a $1,000 fine, 300 hours of community service and a $1,230 transport fee.
