Officers make 16 arrests

Officers with the Greenville Police Department made a total of 16 arrests during the past weekend, several involving reported alcohol-related incidents.

Deputies with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office, meanwhile, have been answering multiple theft and burglary calls during the past few days.

Local police officers were dispatched to 219 calls between Friday morning and Sunday night and filed 52 reports.

Of those people taken into custody, four people were arrested for public intoxication and two for driving while intoxicated. Three people were arrested for outstanding warrants , two each for theft and disorderly conduct/fighting and one person each was arrested for possession of marijuana and terroristic threats.

Deputies were called a report of a Ford F-150, stolen from a residence on Creekside Drive between 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. Friday.

A television was reported stolen during a burglary of a residence on FM 512 between 7 p.m. Friday and 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

At least one motor vehicle burglary was reported to have occurred at a residence on County Road 3602 between 3:30 and 3:35 a.m. Sunday.

Thefts of mailboxes and posts were reported to have occurred on Private Road 1194 between 8 p.m. Saturday and 8:45 a.m. Sunday.

A theft of a mailbox was reported to have occurred on Private Road 1149 between 11 p.m. Friday and 10:40 a.m. Sunday.

The fraudulent use or possession of identifying information was reported to have occurred at a residence on Private Road 2330 between 11 a.m. July 11 and 1 p.m. Friday.
