JEANNE KIRBY

GREENVILLE — Kathryn Jeanne Kirby, 92, of Greenville passed away Feb. 26, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Chris Campbell officiating.  

Restland Funeral Home of Dallas is in charge of arrangements.

Born Sept. 16, 1920, in Vincennes, Ind., Jeanne was the daughter of Edgar Steele and Vera Belle (Martin) Kerr.

She married Oliver (Ollie) Rae Kirby on Jan. 31, 1943.

She was a homemaker and artist, a proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a member of United Presbyterian Church in Greenville and with her husband, one of the earliest volunteers with Hunt County Shared Ministries (FISH) and Women in Need.  

Her survivors include her brother, John Martin Kerr and wife Virginia of Lynchburg, Va.; sons David Kerr Kirby of Greenville and James Oliver Kirby and wife Dee Ann of Greenville; daughter Karen Jeanne Adair and husband Mike of Austin; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a daughter, Nancy Lynn; and two grandchildren.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hunt County Shared Ministries.
