Gary Wayne Erwin, 67, son of Leo and Shirley Erwin, died Jan. 11, 2013, in Anchorage, Alaska, where he had resided the past 40 years.
Gary was born Feb. 15, 1945, in Greenville and was a Purple Heart recipient during the Vietnam War. He was commissary contract monitor for the Commissary in Anchorage.
His parents, brothers Robert and Stevie and sister Barbara Erwin preceded him in death.
Surviving are a sister, Shirley Pearson of Jackson, Miss., and a brother, Phillip of Austin.
Burial will be in a military cemetery in Alaska.
