Jimmie Prince

GREENVILLE — Jimmie Marie Prince, 82, of Greenville peacefully went to be with the Lord on Dec. 9, 2012, at her home. Visitation is from 4–6 p.m. on Tuesday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Johnny Hailes officiating. Burial follows at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.

Jimmie was born March 11, 1930, in Wolfe City to Andrew Jackson and Malisse Mankin. She was married to her soulmate, Frankie Lugene “Gene” Prince, on Dec. 8, 1944, in Hugo, Okla. Jimmie and Gene were active members for more than 60 years at Park Street Baptist Church, and she taught Sunday school for more than 30 years. She lived her life through the eyes of God and always lent a helping hand to those in need.

Jimmie was a hard worker and spent 29 years at E-Systems alongside Gene. After their retirement on the same day in 1991, she proudly supported her family and spoiled the grandchildren she loved so dearly. She enjoyed quilting and other arts and crafts, but most enjoyed family get-togethers, at which Jimmie would most often be found in the kitchen cooking everyone’s favorite dishes, and playing games with her children and grandchildren. “Nanny,” as she was lovingly called by her family, was the rock that held them together. Nanny was a true role model in every way, and her grandchildren aspire to live her ideals every day.

Jimmie is survived by her son Michael Prince and wife, Yafet of Greenville; daughters Linda Shore of Dallas and Kimberly Stewart and husband Scott of Commerce; six grandchildren - Stacey Aldrine, Michael Gene Prince Jr., Ryan Shore, Jasmine Prince, Kayla Prince and Jordan Weiss; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Michael Prince, Ryan Shore, Will Holleman, Fritz Aldrine, Scott Stewart and Jeremy Lovelace.
